This petition is designed to appease both sides of the gun violence issue, that is plaguing America. I am a firearm owner, and law abiding citizen.
Banning an item just creates a black market for items, and would turn law abiding citizens into criminals.
Here is my Proposed federal regulation:
*A diagnosed mental illness will go on a permanent record, and not allow a person to possess a firearm.
*Mandatory 10 day waiting period nationwide, as well as required a background check.
*Federal license to possess high capacity magazines and “assault weapons,” this license would overrule ANY state legislation that bans these weapons (i.e. CA, CT, etc.). Pay $200 to the federal government; for a 10 year permit. First 5 guns free.
*Purchase of a firearm must be in the purchaser’s home state
