Put forward an amendment for the separation of media and state and hold them separate from each other.

Created by K.M. on December 16, 2012

Freedom of the press exists to protect the media from oppression by government, but is not needed when the media functions as an arm of the government. Write an amendment to separate the media from the government like churches have been and require that they be impartial and refuse to endorse candidates or policies while operating in their media functions. Allowing the media to function as political institutions only when they use a visible disclaimer showing that they are only stating opinions and as people are editorializing and propagating it as facts and truth and this is harmful both to the American people and the political process as it restricts news not deemed appropriate by their political masters. If they can only report the approved message and news then freedom suffers.
