Frances E. Willard was an advocate for women. She believed that women needed the right to vote as part of "home protection." Willard worked hard to obtain it.
Willard's work brought women together. She said, "We believe in each other, stand by each other, and have plenty of emulation without envy."
She taught thousands of women around the world to believe in themselves and see what they could accomplish. She taught them how to organize, write, and publicly speak for their causes.
It can be argued that no other woman has done so much to lift women up around the world with her "Do Everything" policy.
Under her guidance, the Woman's Christian Temperance Union became a world-wide organization that continues to this day - working for "God and Home and Native Land."
