Green roof technology has proven over recent years to sustain enormous benefits, of which Grayslake North High School (GNHS) should have the opportunity to take advantage of. Installing a green roof on the high school would allow for cuts in energy bills which could be funneled into furthering education. Utilizing building rooftops allows for the most efficient use of land space as well. The addition of plant life to the school would help to cycle out admissions from the air helping to elevate global warming concerns. This is a concept that is not foreign to our nation yet has been out of favor for far to long. Should this petition be passed it will stand as stepping stone for other institutions to seek out globally responsible and economically beneficial practices.
