PUT HONESTY BACK IN GOVERNMENT

To create legislation requiring any person holding public office, or acting as a representative of any such office, to be considered "under oath" whenever addressing the public in an official capacity. Whenever anyone in a position of public trust speaks to explain, describe, promote, or decry any policies proposed or actual, that person must conduct him/herself as if under oath and under the pains and penalties of perjury. This would eliminate the dissemination of bogus, erroneous, misleading, or false information for the purpose of "clouding" the public debate or inflaming constituencies. Furthermore this legislation should include those individuals seeking an elected posistion or acting on behalf of any such person at anytime addressing the public in the official capacity of candidate
