Put a Limit on the length of time that a Member of Congress may serve.

Created by S.B. on November 14, 2012

Power instills corruption, and total comfort within a position causes stagnation at that position. Congress has become a very slow moving and corrupt organization in recent years. With Senator or Representative becoming a permanent job, as opposed to a passing duty as it was originally intended, we have created a system that specialized in accomplishing nothing. We propose a limit to how long a United States Congressman (or woman) may serve, originally putting this limit at two terms.

With knowledge that they will no longer have their governmental positions essentially indefinitely, Congress will be forced to actually move legislation through in a timely manner, and the greater turnover of politicians will result in Congress being more attuned to the everyman of America.
