On July 20, 1969, America and the world watched in awe as humans set foot on our moon for the first time. Never before in our Nation's history has an event drawn such inspiration and National unity as the space race. After the passage of over 40 years, many Americans were either not alive to appreciate this accomplishment or the memory of it is fading. It is time once again to invoke a sense of National pride and camaraderie and accomplish something truly amazing and seemingly impossible. In the spirit of Jon F. Kennedy, announce that we WILL land a man on Mars within 10 years.
Such a feat will spur jobs, the economy, and a sense of National pride that often accelerates prosperity.
Let's put a man on Mars within 10 years!
