Put a moratorium on Post Office closings

The USPS has provided every American with efficient and trustworthy mail delivery for over 200 years. Thanks to the postal accountability and enhancement act of 2006 and poor management, this service is in danger. The Post office is required by the law to spend $5.5 billion per year to fund future healthcare. If the Post Office had an extra 5.5 billion a year to spare, it would not be doing its job!
We ask that you 1) Put a moratorium on Post Office closings. 2) Pressure Congress to remove the barriers to the Post Office's success. They must drop the requirement to prefund 75 years of healthcare, and give the Post Office the freedom to provide other important US services. 3) Replace Patrick Donahoe with someone who will make the post office mission and obligations a priority.
