Our nation's roads, bridges, highways, et al., are under-maintenanced for how much traffic they experience, and we need more federal and state funding put into their upkeep. We also need to give the money to contractors who will hire more laborers and get work done. As evidenced by tragedies such as the Minnesota I-35 Bride collapse, this is an issue we can't just sit around and wait to fix, it needs to be fixed now. We also need to look into more innovative and efficient ways to pave our roads and erect our bridges.
