While today in America we cannot make a claim for "Taxation without representation" as we could 200 years ago, many can make the claim that we are not fairly represented at the federal level because we are lumped into Red states and Blue states where our personal convictions and beliefs do not always align with the individual who is "representing" us in Congress.
Thus, I propose that the issue of National Healthcare be put to a national vote, and once and for all determine what the people want. This is in fact a government "for the people, by the people".
Not only would this settle the 4 year running debate on healthcare, but would set a precedence for an Initiative and Referenda system to be setup at the federal level.
