Stop Bobby Jindal from cutting higher education funds in Louisiana

At the Louisiana House Appropriations Committee meeting on Wednesday, April 8th, 2015, Governor Bobby Jindal proposed a budget plan that involved cutting funding from higher education institutions by over 80%. While Jindal had hoped to reduce this cut drastically over time, his plans have all but followed through. He relied on the $376 million from his tax credit rollback to give to these higher education institutions, only to have legislators refuse to pass these rollbacks. These state funding restrictions also raise tuitions, which consequently leads to more government money being spent on TOPS each year. As citizens who care for not only our future but the educational future of the generations to come, it is our duty to call for a change in Jindal's new budget plan.
