There are no real labor laws put in place for breastfeeding mothers. Many mothers that need to express their milk at work become fired for taking too many breaks. And while there are laws in few states that state that the employer must provide an area for breastfeeding mothers to express their milk that is not a toilet stall but that employees that are on a salary are exempt from this. Meaning if a woman who breastfeeds takes a break to express her milk for her child, she can be fired and not protected under any law. Also some in some states, women are not protected under any laws for breastfeeding. Remember, it is not only a matter of health for the woman who decides to breastfeed, the babies are also the ones who benefit from the protection of women breastfeeding.
