Put into place Federal Laws for more severe punishments for those who take the life of innocent children

Created by D.H. on April 10, 2013

In the state of Ohio, a 19 month old child was recently beaten and burned, placed on life support, where the child eventually lost his life. Those responsible for this crime were the childs mother, and her boy friend. These two have since been charged with Involuntary Manslaughter (I.M.) due to the death of the child (and a few other charges). In the state of Ohio, I.M. is a felony of the first degree, carrier the maximum punishment of 10 years in prison. The reason for this charge is that all other chargers of this natuer must include pre meditation, or "knowingly" taking a life. Because these two will state that they did not intend for the child to die, they will get away only getting I.M.
