We would like any medically unnecessary euthanasia on dogs and cats to be eliminated from our animal shelters. In order to prevent the amount of unwanted animals laws need to be created regarding puppy mills. We want minimum mandatory sentencing and fines for people who are found guilty for animal abuse. We want local authorities to be held accountable to make sure calls and complaints they receive are investigated regarding animal neglect and abuse. We would also like education programs to reach our children so they do not grow up thinking that neglect and abuse are ok. I would love for all states to be required to build at least one more shelter. I am calling for a national Animal Abuse Prevention tax. Imagine what even .5 cents weekly could accomplish. Rescue groups are overburdened.
