put pressure on the FDA to not allow the use of artificial sweeteners in dairy products without proper labeling.

Created by T.E. on March 01, 2013

The International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA) and the National Milk Producers Federation (NMPF) filed a petition with the FDA to change the definition of “milk” so that chemical sweeteners like aspartame used as ingredients not listed on the product label.

If the petition is successful, these hidden additives could also be included in other dairy products such as whipping cream, yogurt, eggnog, sweetened condensed milk, sour cream, and half-and-half without requiring any special labeling and not allowing for consumers to make their own informed choices.
