Currently the US Women's National Team has been playing under an expired contract from 2012. This team has taken our country by storm and has inspired countless girls AND boys around the country to play soccer. As the father of two daughters I feel blessed that they are fortunate enough to have such an incredibly talent group of women to look up to. It wasn't too long ago that "playing like a girl" was a universal insult. Today though, as President Obama so eloquently put it back in October when he hosted the USWNT at the White House, the USWNT has taught kids that "playing like a girl means you're a badass."
We are all familiar with the inequity the women have faced regarding playing surface compared to the men but there are many others including pay, bonus and travel accomodations.
