Put pressure on the Veterans Administration to open up more clinical positions for Licensed Professional Counselors

Created by J.G. on September 05, 2012

Many of the hundreds of thousands of veterans and active military personnel who served in combat from World War II through to Iraq and Afghanistan, suffer PTSD or lesser forms of trauma. Yet a large percentage never receive treatment.

Licensed Professional Counselors and Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselors are fully trained and qualified to provide mental health services alongside psychologists and clinical social workers.

However, the Veterans Administration, despite vetting this profession over a year ago, has remained slow to hire LPCs and LPMHCs.

This petition asks that the President and Congress apply greater pressure on the VA to open up hiring LPCs and LPMHCs at a time when so many of our Wounded Warriers need their help.
