If the US started selling green cards we could raise a large amount of money very quickly. It costs thousands of dollars in lawyer fees and government fees for an immigrant to even apply for citizenship in this county but if we just put a flat price on it more immigrants would be coming here legally and the illegal immigrants already here would be able to stay but have to buy their green card. For example if we charged $10,000 for a green card and say 12 million immigrants buy one in the first few years that is $120,000,000,000 that translates to 120 billion dollars.
