Put restrictions on channels and times that horror movie commercials are advertised.

Created by R.R. on April 22, 2014

Horror movies advertise on all channels and all hours of the day. These commercials are shown on channels and at all times of the day that young children can see. They are frightening to young children and can cause nightmares.
Not only can they cause nightmares but studies show that horror movies can have lasting affects on children and teens. "These effects were more serious than jumpiness at a slammed door or the need to use a nightlight. They ranged from an inability to sleep through the night for months after exposure, to steadfast and continuing avoidance of the situations portrayed in the programs and movies." (DeGroat).
Horror movies should not be allowed to advertise on the major networks between the hours of 5 AM and 8:30 PM or stations that children watch regularly (ABC Family).
