About 360 innocent bystanders are killed in police chases every year. That is about 1 per day. Sometimes police officers will chase a person with absolutely nothing on their record, which in some cases is unacceptable. Road conditions could be bad and their can be lots of cars and pedestrians on the streets. Laws should be made to guide the officers when and when not to pursue. Officers driving at very high speeds in uncontrolled fashions pose a major threat to these people. However if the person running away in a vehicle is a dangerous violent criminal, the police officer should pursue.
