Those working in the federal government in Washington should receive a salary and benefits comparable to a teacher's salary, with a cap at $50k/year. They should only receive a salary as long as they actively serve as a senator, congressman or woman, President, VP, or any job in the federal government. They should contribute to Social Security and receive the same health care benefits, life insurance and all other benefits our teachers do. If they have a private income that exceeds $50k/year, they should not receive a salary at all. Once they serve their term, they should not receive any salary or benefits.
