Congress has turned the Social Security system into a welfare system. It was meant to be a system the provides extra income to those that have paid into the system, meeting their quarter requirement as extra income after retirement. Now the rates have gone up by 2%, for what? Did the rates go down for those that shouldn't be collecting it anyway. Bottom line is it isn't welfare, if you don't pay into the system and expect to get paid from it, find another county, and elect people in congress and the White house that know the difference. The money belongs to the people that are paying, not congress or the White House. Maybe the people that pay should open a class action suite to get it restored to what it should be. Wasn't meant for welfare.
