Put a stop to the Common Core Curriculum Standards in K-12 education

Created by M.L. on August 07, 2013

The Common Core Curriculum standards were designed to nationalize the US education system. In theory, it sounds good that students are learning the same things across state lines. However, the new curriculum was put together by corporate interests and with very little teacher input. Not only will it threaten teachers' jobs, it will force an unbearable amount of standardized testing on the backs of American students. These new standards were piloted in Kentucky and put into effect in New York and test scores dropped 50%! These assessments were designed to make public education more dependent on companies like Pearson, who helped create the standards and will sell all of the supplements for these assessments.
