Put stronger consequences on rapists

Created by L.D. on April 22, 2015

Rape is an act of violence against the victim in a form of sexual aggression. These people have performed direct attacks against their victims life and dignity. The fact that 98% of rapists are never jailed is appalling, and those who are only subject to 8 or 9 years (often with parole). What they have done is as bad as murder, because they have ruined the sanctity of someone's body, just in a different way. Sexual assault is not something the victim will ever truly be able to recover from, and the rapists are still dangerous because there is no way to stop them from raping again. They should spend longer in jail to protect the lives of both the victims, and other citizens, from being harmed by them.
