Let's not adopt a budgetary "solution" that puts cutting senior and disabled benefits ahead of fixing the corporate tax structure and the unconscionably low taxes paid by the richest among us. Corporate profits have doubled over the past decade while corporate taxes have been cut in half. 25 of the Fortune 100 paid no corporate income taxes at all. Laws that allow the richest among us to pay a much smaller percentage in income taxes than the median income earners in the USA. We let pharma take money from our pockets by restricting our own ability to negotiate prices for drugs. The majority of Americans find all of these facts distasteful in an environment where we're looking to scrape money out of social security recipients' pockets. Obama administration and progressives, stand firm!
