The Obama administration recently cancelled White House tours in order to save money on Secret Service staff. The White House reported that suspending these tours would save taxpayers $74,000 a week. Alternate reports adjust this figure down to just $18,000 a week.
Judicial Watch reported that Malia Obama's Spring Break in Mexico last year cost taxpayers over $115,000, or 2-6 weeks of White House tours. This year, the First Daughters were spotted in the Bahamas during the break. In 2013, alone, the President's family has averaged a vacation a month in locations such as Hawaii, Aspen, Florida, and the aforementioned Bahamas.
The issue of this petition lies with the blatant hypocrisy of the President requiring immediate change by American citizens, but not with himself or his family.
