Put through Legislation Removing the words, "Under God," from the Pledge of Allegiance.

Created by K.N. on December 16, 2012

The words "Under God" were not included into the Pledge of Allegiance when it was originally written, or the 3 changes made in the wording. After the 4th change in 1954, the words were added, and since then have been a source of debate. Many Americans do not believe in any god, and many believe in many gods. By stating "Under God," they are undermining the beliefs of millions of Atheist/Agnostic Americans, as well as a number of other religions who acknowledge more than one god/goddess. This petition would allow religion to be removed from the pledge, and make it solely about this great country, and not to 1 religion.
