Put the unemployed back to work by doing public works projects similar to what was done in the late 1930's.

Created by P.D. on November 17, 2011

During the Great Depression the government made successful headway against it by putting together public works projects to give people jobs. Most economists and historians agree that this was the driving force that lead the way out of the Depression. When we get to the bottom of it we have to increase the gross domestic product. The GDP is made up of three basic things: consumer spending, corporate spending, and government spending. If nobody is spending the economy will continue to spiral downward. The government needs to take initiative and put money in the hands of consumers by employing them. When the consumers have more money they will be willing to spend more money and drive the economy forward.
