Qingming Festival should be counted on the U.S. federal public holiday.

Created by C.L. on April 03, 2016

Qingming Festival is when Chinese people visit the columbaria, graves or burial grounds to pray to their ancestors. Young and old pray before the ancestors, sweep the tombs and offer food, tea, wine, chopsticks, joss paper accessories, and libations to the ancestors.

Through the tomb-sweeping day, each family members(including American families) can have the holiday to remember and honor their ancestors at grave sites. This will not only promote their respect and filial piety to the ancestors, but also they can use Qingming Festival day to rest to relieve their work/family pressure and consumption to boost the economic growth.

I hope the U.S. federal government can pass the Qingming Festival Public Holiday Act to let people respect and filial piety to the ancestors as well as rest .
