This petition asks for the Federal Government to pass legislation that makes it a requirement for any gun owner to procure a "gun safe" to accommodate all firearms within that persons possession to ensure no others can have ready access to those firearms without the owner’s permission. The safe owner must register his combination, keys or both with the local law agency for inspection periods of up to four per year for as long as he or she shall own such weapons. Failure to provide access to the safe with result in immediate confiscation of the safe and its contents. A list of firearms must be provide to the local law enforcement agency and any updates, (Sales or Purchases) shall be noted in written form to that local agency within a 48 hour period.
