I am a spouse of a 100% disabled OEF veteran. He has PTSD. Those not familiar, PTSD causes mood swings, weight loss, fatigue, emotionally numb etc. In order for him to still feel human, he has to smoke marijuana. He has tried a lot of anti anxiety and anti depressants. None work as well as the marijuana. The pills last maybe half the day, then it is back to mood swings and no emotions. On top of that, he has to take other medications for his herniated disk and arthritis. Some of these medications can not be taken with his SSRI's. He can either choose to take his SSRI's or his pain medication. If he chooses both, he is out for the day. More sleep and weight loss. The marijuana helps with appetite, emotions and actually helps with keeping the bond between his 3 children and wife.
