The recent diagnosis of Ebola in Texas has made it abundantly clear that is not just an African problem, it is a global problem. The only people we should be sending in or out of African countries affected by this are doctors, health-workers, and scientists. Commercial travel in and out of effected countries needs to be stopped by the US Government to prevent further spread of this deadly disease. While it is well-known that this is spread through direct contact and unsanitary conditions, people do not exhibit symptoms for weeks after they contract the virus, so temperature checks are not enough. Other countries can do what they want, but we need to shut down travel in and out of West Africa as soon as possible. Please sign this petition to get the White House to take action.
