Recently, as publicized by the media, the state of Florida ruled that George Zimmerman is not guilty of either the crime of manslaughter or second degree murder. However, the media portrayal of the incident and the case has pitted African Americans from across the United States against the criminal justice system of Florida and George Zimmerman as an individual. It has always been the policy of the federal government to allow the states the right to handle their own murder laws and the enforcement of such laws. We the people ask the Obama administration and the White House to treat this murder case as any other, to withstand the pressure to act, and to leave the government of the state of Florida, the criminal justice system of Florida, and George Zimmerman to their own affairs.
