raise the $106,800 cap on the FICA payroll tax

Created by M.W. on September 26, 2011

Currently, there is a cap of $106,800 on the collection of FICA payroll taxes. This means that once a person reaches the $106,800 cap they no longer have to pay into the Social Security fund. Why should only the people making under this amount pay into this system? If anything the rate should be increased once this limit is reached. The wealthy should be paying their fair share into the Social Security system and it would help to make Social Security more solvent for our children and grandchildren in the future.
