Raise awareness of child neglect when it is not physical abuse. Such as exposing an asthmatic child to mold.

Created by C.S. on March 26, 2013

My son was admitted to ICU for a severe asthma attack caused by long term exposure to mold spores in his fathers home. I have contacted child protected services, health departments and physicians in attempt to protect my son from his fathers home conditions. I have been told I have to allow my son to continue his visitation or I will face contempt of court charges and face fines and jail time. The ICU team advised his father and I that my sons chances of dying from an asthma attack have increased by 10% now that he has been admitted to ICU for such an attack. Yet his father continues to expose him to the mold in the home. There needs to be heightened awareness of the health hazards of mold exposure and also the ability to protect a child from such situations without facing criminal charges
