Domestic abuse is a very real problem, even in our great nation. I think it is necessary to raise awareness of this problem, and let the victims know that it's okay to speak out.
Every 9 seconds, a woman is abused in United States, and worldwide nearly one-third of the women have been victims of domestic abuse.
I personally believe this is unacceptable. People should feel safe in their own homes. This is why it is my hope to have this issue more publicized. Hotline numbers should be posted in more public places and help should be offered in schools and workplaces.
