Raise the bar on the petition system, not by increasing signatures needed but by requiring supporting evidence

Created by E.P. on January 18, 2013

We The People is a fantastic idea. But the recent increases in signature demands only provides false evidence to the public of a supposed 'dictator' who 'wont listen.'

The proposal here is that this very site be revamped in such a way as to require petition writers to provide supporting evidence, logical argument, and to effectively prove that what they are asking is ACTUALLY the governments responsibility, and under federal jurisdiction.

Further, this proposal asks that each petition page be given a way for others to comment and debate the request, add opposing arguments, etc.

I envision a system similar to kickstarter, where "risks and challenges" are expected to be documented for a successful funding.
