raise the earnings ceiling for taxation of Social Security benefits. It never been raised. Doesn't account for inflation

Created by L.M. on February 14, 2013

The taxation ceiling for those receiving social security benefits is not fair. It has not been raised since it's inception. It is taking vital income from seniors and we are basically being punished for earning more than the ceiling allows. It further penalizes them for a working spouse. The working spouse in contributing to social security, why penalize them. I can't believe more people don't raise this concern. It was truly shocking when we filed our taxes to find out 25 % of the social security would be taxes at 25%.That is shameful. Meager social security income taxed!! Please revisit the taxation ceiling and help senior put that money back into the economy. This admistration is concerned about fairness of taxation, this should be at the top of the list.
