Raise the federal minimum wage to $10.95 to match the inflation-adjusted minimum wage that was in place in 1968.

A recent study by UC-Berkely and the University of Illinois found that 52% of fast food workers are on public assistance, and that this costs the taxpayers almost $7 billion per year. This amounts to a huge subsidy to the wealthy fast-food industry. Employers should pay their employees a living wage so taxpayers aren't forced to pick up the slack.
