Raise the Federal Minimum wage to $11.00 an hour, To allow for a prosperous life for all workers.

Created by C.L. on September 07, 2013

The current state of the Federal Minimum Wage ($7.80) Is in complete disregard of the original intention of the law upon its inception. $7.80 Is by no means sufficient to pay for a safe, comfortable life by any stretch of the imagination; and encourages employers to use it as the baseline to fall back on for low skill, high stress and physical effort jobs.
The original intention of this law was to protect those in such jobs, not lock them in poverty. The federal minimum wage would be $10.74 if adjusted for inflation. Corporations post increasing profits and constantly widening margins while the working class stagnates and only gets poorer; Its only fair to our workforce to honor the intent and spirit of the law to increase the wage and bring an ethical culture of work and due compensation
