Raise Federal Pay Wages For Restaurant Service Workers

I am petitioning today to raise the pay wage for restaurant service employees from $2.13 per hour to $5.00 per hour.
When I started working in restaurants in the late 70's hourly pay was about $1.35 per hour, but we didn't have to claim our tips until the early 80's. Since then our pay has only raised to $2.13 per hour and we have to claim 100% of our tips.
By time taxes are taken out of our pay for our tips claimed, our take home pay is zero or next to zero.
Several employees owe taxes at the end of the year because of this.
Many of us are single parents and are forced to work 2 and 3 jobs because of this extremely low pay and unfair taxing system.
I see no reason for restaurant employees to be held down in such a way when we supply such a needed service.
