Current fuel taxes are insufficient to maintain, much less improve, our aging infrastructure. While higher gas taxes have some drawbacks, such as being somewhat regressive, and having a moderately negative impact on the economy, the positives include reduced greenhouse gas emissions, reduced traffic congestion, improved air quality, and most importantly, actually having enough money to maintain and improve American infrastructure.
Please support legislation to increase the gas tax and peg it to inflation (and possibly also fuel economy).
