Raise the hourly pay rate to at least 70% of CURRENT minimum wage for tipped employees.

Created by D.B. on January 25, 2013

Federal minimum wage hase't changed for tipped employees for years, since 1991 to be exact. This has to change, minimum wage has risen several times since then. It is only fair that tipped employees get the same benefit as everyone else that benefits from this raise since inflation effects everyone, not just minimum wage employee/earners. 70% of current minimum wage, what ever the wage is at any given time is fair since we as tipped employees can offset the 30% with tips earned during any given shift. Some days tipped employees make less than $30-$60... and at $2.13 per hour, that just isn't enough to get the bills paid. Federal Tipped Employee wage currently is $2.13 per hour. PLEASE HELP US MAKE A CHANGE FOR THE BETTER. THANK YOU!
