In an attempt to better the full time employees' work life the Affordable Heathcare Act created a threshold for the number of hours an employee can work before they are considered full time and required to receive benefits (30 hours a week). While good it also created a negative effect on part time employees. Because of this employers cannot/will not allow their part time staff work more than 28 hours a week. This hurts a part time employee because instead of being able to put in almost 40 hours a week in one job, receiving good pay and able to pay the bills. They now have to get two or more part time jobs. This means more work, less benefits, less time to enjoy life. As a result, we ask that the WH move to change that threshold back to 40 hrs a week which is the normal workweek either way
