Each class of recipients of disability benefits has an earning threshold. I can earn $9,000 more each year until I'm 62, then my monthly income goes down.
Soc. Sec. offers a Ticket To Work. Without help it is too difficult to jump through the hoops without crashing. It is mainly focused on employment, not self-employment. They treat it like an SBA loan application.
Why am I not allowed to experiment with Self-Employment until I can find something I'm capable of doing without stressing myself out and crashing and burning? I'm limited in what I can do. Some weeks nothing. When I turn 62, I won't have enough to live on.
I'm asking that TTW be amended with alternatives, that it be simplified and Income Earning Thresholds be increased without penalty, especially after the age of 62.
