Raise the income tax rate for earnings over $250k to 44.2%, instead of settling for the 39.4% that will exist Jan 1

Created by D.M. on December 18, 2012

Rather than compromise and capitulate, please Mr. President, suggest that Congress raise the top tax bracket to a rate that corresponds better to those that existed when the USA was most prosperous. Over the past several decades, tax cuts for the rich have damaged the economy.

The top rate will go up by 4.6% January 1, and billionaires are trying to block the increase. The President should go one step further by requesting an additional 4.6% on top of the expiring Bush tax cuts. If the wealthy class want to continue to push for economically unsound policies, it is the duty of the President and Congress to push back.
