Raise the IRS medical mileage tax credit from 16.5 cents back to the 54 cents per medical mile credit a few years ago

The Government has allowed the IRS to lower the medical mileage tax credit from 54 cents per mile to 16.5 cents per mile within the past few years. The cost of gas is now $4+ per gallon; and yet elderly and disabled people are only allowed 16.5 cents medical mileage credit off their taxes; and expected to get by on less money. People who have to drive to see their doctors, medical providers, and get medicine from pharmacies should not be relegated to writing off their medical mileage for a few pennies worth of tax credit. It's unfair, and the higher cost of gas causing more suffering when at a time people need a hand up and not a hand down.
