The legal Blood Alcohol Content of 0.08% is not realistic in terms of what should be considered "over the limit" and is not representative of a BAC that impairs one's abilities.
A BAC limit that is too low only serves as a funding source for local governments to pry as much money out of the hands of working men and women who are, by no means, "impaired" by a BAC of 0.08%.
In these hard times, many people could use a break after work to enjoy two or three drinks without the constant threat of losing their jobs, their cars and thousands of dollars in consequences.
Alternatively, a driver with a BAC between 0.08% and 0.13% should be given a moving violation with a small fine as to not encourage people to feel it is advisable to drink and drive, without ruining their lives.
