Raise the maximum age for hire as an air traffic controller in the FAA

When I was discharged from active duty I had been an air traffic controller in the Air Force for 10 years. I applied for a job with the FAA, but was denied because at that time I was past my 31st birthday. I was also informed that my time on active duty was not considered Federal employment and I was not eligible for the age waiver associated with prior Federal employees, which allows you until your 35th birthday to be hired. It is my position that if you were a certified air traffic controller on active duty in any branch, that you should be eligible for FAA employment as a controller so long as your military service time and FAA employment time can add up to 30 years of service.
