Soldiers should be paid a higher salary because they put their lives on the line for our country. They risk their lives for us and make sure that we live in a safe environment, however, a large percentage of these brave men and women have to go on government assisted programs to help support themselves. They're the reason we have our freedom so they should be able to live comfortably. Soldiers should be paid more than someone who hits homeruns, scores touchdowns, or skates around on the ice. If the military didn't exist what would stop another country from overtaking us? Soldiers should be paid a higher salary because they protect us and allow us to receive the money we earn. Without them, imagine where we would be.
